DRIVER'S SOCIAL MEETING
The next Driver's Social Meeting will be held on Wednesday 11th May
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STEERING TEST / WHEELIES
Following recent tests, rear engined vehicles will now drive through 3 cones, twenty feet apart, at walking pace.
Initially, failure to pass this test will result in a note in your licence and being allowed to race at that meeting - however, if the car fails again at a subsequent test, it will not be allowed to race until it is altered accordingly.
For wheelying - please see Class 4/5/6/7 Rulebook, Page 12, Rule 1.7 and Class 8/9/10 Rulebook, Page 14, Rule 1.8.
Initially, cars wheelying will be disqualified from that race and will be able to make alterations and be re-scrutineered before competing again at the same meeting. Cars continuing to wheely will be disqualified from the remainder of that meeting.
In the Class 4/5/6/7 Rulebook, Page 28, Rule 2.35 and Class 8/9/10 Rulebook, Page 19, Rule 2.23 are no longer appropriate and will not be enforced for the 2008 season.
Members are still highly recommended to build their cars to a 67%-33% weight split.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CLASS 2 CORSA
The Corsa using a 1300cc Nova engine will be allowed to compete in Class 2 for the 2008 season. However, as with previous experimental cars, they will not be counted for National Allocations, will not be allowed to qualify for or compete at the Mens/Ladies National Championships. Any further queries should be discussed with Derek Hardy (Dougal), NASA Chief Scrutineer.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CLASS 1 & 2 ROLL CAGE
Reference - Bars connecting the front and rear hoops at low level/bottom/base (a.k.a. Floor Frame bars).
It is confirmed that these must be bolted to the vehicle floor-pan @ 457mm (18inch) centers complete with steel plates (minimum surface area 150 sq mm (6 inch sq)) and bolted through the floor-pan to a steel plate of equal size.
Note: Where, due to the floor-pan original shape the bars are fitted as low as practicable and therefore are just above the raised parts of the floor-pan and not flat on the floor, then it is permissible to fit L or angle brackets from the base of the frame bars down to the floor-pan.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ILLEGAL CARS
Any cars found illegal at any club, league or National meeting will lose all points previously gained if registered in the British Autograss Series from 2008.
